Welcome to the tenth edition in the series of the Water Cooler – appears every Sunday on this blog. This feature will highlight what’s hot, topical and up for discussion.
Here we go.
Politics
Sarah Palin’s interview with Oprah Winfrey will be a hit. It will have the media talking for the next two weeks and beyond. The political pundits who spewed hate against this lady will cringe when their deepest fears are realized when she inevitably runs for President the next time around. Please clear the thought of a second term for Obama. The economic situation will change all those dreams. The fact is Sarah Palin represents to the ‘tee’ the ideal Republican Party candidate and could be a force to reckon with if she makes that decision to do the right thing. I am compassionate to those folks who today think Palin is not dignified or unqualified to serve as President. That would mean the others who served and is serving in that same position aren’t worthy themselves. The Palin brand will see traction in the coming years and it gives her more time to create the right image for the post. Do not forget a day in politics is a long time.
So Obama faces a decision to send more troops to the war torn Middle East country. This decision will define his presidency and I can’t wait to what is going to come of it. Obama campaigned to end the war. I don’t know if this is a broken promise but I would have loved to see him with the balls to leave Afghanistan and really bring about that change he preached – campaign and joked about.
Entertainment
I got to watch The Kardashians yesterday – the one featuring the infamous wedding with Khloe and Lamar. I am a fan of the show – have always been. Don’t we love the drama? There is one thing I have noticed from the show. Of all the drama we have known the family to deliver you get the picture family values are at the foundation of this family. Of course, we can imagine the disgust and quarrels a family goes through when someone plans to get married after meeting the other under a month. We normally think the person is crazy because of the sudden decision. All in all, families are best when they come together and share the joy of others.
Many may think its another fake marriage and fake love. Who knows?
Photo & Inspiration
My friend took some pictures at the famous Rose Hall Resort & Spa. Enjoy some pictures below. They are lovely – hope you’ll like them.
Love & Relationship
The tip for the week is “Do not nag your partner.” Quit it.
I’ll watch the Oprah/Palin interview…should be interesting…
I don’t envy Obama @ all…
There is something interesting about those Kardashians…
I dunno who envies Obama right now. The guy has so much on his plate.
I’m somewhat disappointed that you can somehow post an entry that extols the virtues of Sarah Palin. She took advantage of the worst elements and biases among blue collar and southern bigots. At her rallies, racial epithets would be shouted and she did nothing to discourage that kind of thing. During that time–then Senator Obama would admonish those who booed during his rallies when her name was mentioned stating that…. a more appropriate response would be your vote at the polls. She was rude, blatantly uninformed on matters that she should have known as Governor of Alaska. Her record was dismal there and she left because she had burned so many bridges during her short stint. (pardon the pun)I’m really surprised that you are a follower on my blog. Politically we are so different in our views. Your exaltation of Fox News is staggering and unbelievable. I do believe that there are many ways to view an issue, however, the blatant racism I’ve observed by Fox news and some of their commentators as well as Sarah Palin; defies your point of view. President Obama is the best leader we’ve had in many years and he’s shown the grace and humility that I’ve not witnessed with Sarah Palin, her followers or Fox News. I sure hope your wrong about him being a one term President and God help us if your comments about Sarah Palin becomes a reality.
I wouldn’t like to be in Obama’s shoes right now, either. But I don’t think Sarah Palin will become president, if the Republicans are a little bit clever they will choose brand new candidates with no known flaws or “history”.
I’ve always found the Kardashians show so fake, especially the mother. Khloe and Lamar’s marriage could be real, though.
The pics are great, the tip hmmm…
That tip lol
Can’t wait for the Sarah Palin/ Oprah interview~ My DVR is set!
Obama campaigned on ending the war in Iraq (not Afghanistan). HOW IS THIS BREAKING A CAMPAIGN PROMISE? Bring it on Sarah (Obama will send your lying butt back to Alaska crying….lol).
Obama has too much on his plate to be fighting Sarah. Appreciate the feedback Tim.
I for one applaud the fact that Obama the President is more moderate than Obama the candidate.
Sarah Palin does not seem like the right answer to the times that we live in on the surface and even in depth. Is she trying to follow Obama’s journey by publishing a book that has mass appeal and build a candidacy from that. We all know that even though Obama did not have the “experience,” no one could question his judgement or feel so uncomfortable with his intellectual capacity to be president. I can’t see how anyone could equate Sarah Palin lack of experience in the same way. No disrespect, but she must have ghost writers doing the majority of that work.
If Sarah Palin was to run for president I’d most likely vote for her. I don’t think she would be the best candidate as the main-stream media has done an excellent job in their continual smear campaign against her as demonstrated by the comment of Carolyn Moon. Ms. Moon ‘voices’ the same bias and vitriol in her commnet typical of those on the left, without pointing out one fact or a credible source link. (again typically liberal) Let’s view some of Obama’s grace: giving Gordon Brown P.M. of England a collection of DVD’s (very classy) and the Queen of England an I-Pod with pictures of her visit to the U.S. in 2007 down-loaded in it. (very graceful), not to mention his receiving of the ‘bling’ from King Abdullah. Oh yes, this guy reeks of grace and humility. I don’t even have to provide any links to state the fact that Obama is the most arrogant, narcissistic person ever to arrive on the political stage, let alone become president of the U.S.
The ‘gentleman’ has no respect for America or Americans and is selling the U.S. and it’s sovereignty down the tubes on a daily basis.
Personally, I’ll vote for ANYONE that runs against him come 2012.
If you’re going to state your argument as fact, next time trying using some actual facts. You argued that Sarah Palin is the victim of vitriol and a huge smear campaign from the left, because “that’s what they do”.
Yet, in your argument you pass off your opinion of vitriol as fact about Obama, by labeling him the “most arrogant and narcissistic” President ever. That’s like saying the chicks on the left are sexist, or worst the coons on the left are racist.
SMH, at calling the left bias, and yet employing the same techniques….
There was an old joke that went… “Liza Minelli is so fake, she couldn’t even walk downstairs sincerely!” That’s the way I feel about the Kardashians.
On the other hand, I’d let Sarah Palin borrow my truck. I like her.
The Khlodom thing is so fake. Considering it didn’t go down until after the pre-nup was hammered out, I’d say that smacks of “we need something to spike interest and ratings!”
Thanks so much for the feedback. Whether its for ratings or love – I got a life to live. Lol
Corve,
I’m with you – I would have loved to see him with the balls to leave Afghanistan and really bring about that change he preached – campaign
I think people would have appreciated that move. All those monies could be used to secure America. I do not think Muslim countries will change for now. They have a different ideology.
Palin is just like all other politicians. Are you going to run in 2012, simple question. Have you thought of running, yet another simple question. I’m just focusing on 2010. OMG! Here we go again.
I will have to disagree with you on Palin. If it were Kay Bailey Hutchinson, I would not like her for being on the right, but I would respect her for the depth of knowledge and experience she has, and the simple ability to articulate her ideas beyond bullet points. She not only understand the basis of her ideology, she understand how it fits into the larger matrix of national policy. I would love to see Kay Bailey Hutchinson in a debate against Hillary Clinton. Sarah Palin on the other hand, would be crushed by Hillary, perhaps the reasons why she’s now reaching out to Hillary, instead of calling Hillary a whiner.
Palin gets so much slack for the Katie Couric interview, but the Sean Hannity interview was just as bad, and he fed her the answers and patronized her as if she was weakling. It’s one thing to like her for her Ideology, but it’s another to believe this woman can lead effectively. At this point we have nothing to go on, especially after she left her post as governor and not during lame duck as she claims, but right before the recession hit. She can say it was over ethics, but it just doesn’t appear that way.
Last, but not least, I was skeptical of Obama, but he ran a good campaign, and understood national politics beyond talking points. Maybe I have had too much education, but Palin doesn’t seem to understand complex ideas, I fear her ideas are too simple to handle a crisis. So far she hasn’t proven me wrong.
I think that photo is just a bird’s eye view of an outdoor lamp. Thanks for the follow by the way!
You are correct! yeah. it is an outdoor lamp.
I love the pictures of the Rose Hall Resort and especially how the horizon of water and sky is captured! Would you ask the photographer to pleeeeeeeease post more pictures?
I will get more. LOL 🙂
Thank you, you are far more eloquent and diplomatic than I which will certainly produce better results whereas I have failed miserably so far 🙂
P.S. – i TOTALLY agree that Mya was robbed on Dancing With The Stars…she is from near my hometown in the state of Maryland (near the Washington D.C. border) and went to Roosevelt High School with my godsister Wendy who was on the cheerleading/pom-pom team with her and Wendy says she has always been so nice and sweet and very talented too. We were shocked she didn’t win because clearly she deserved to!
